NCAA Regional Semi-Finals

Here are the Ken Pom "Thrill Score" rankings for tonight's games:

1.  (7) Alabama v. (17) Brigham Young (6:09 P.M. -- CBS)
2.  (3) Florida v. (11) Maryland (6:39 P.M. -- TBS)
3.  (1) Duke v. Arizona (8:39 P.M. -- CBS)
4.  (9) Texas Tech v. Arkansas (9:09 P.M. -- TBS)

According to press reports, the TV ratings for the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament were the highest since 1993.  I'm not surprised -- it's been a great tournament so far.

  3. The last game in the first round of the Sweet 16 will feature Henderson County (from the Second Region) and Cooper H.S. in Union, Kentucky (from the Ninth Region). It is 216 miles from Cooper H.S. to Henderson Co. H.S., and you have to take I-64 across Indiana for most of the route. Of the eight routes we've traced so far, this is the only one that takes you out of Kentucky.

  10. Alabama went 25-51 on three's. They're hard to beat when they miss their threes. When they make them, they are pretty much unstoppable.
