According to press reports, the TV ratings for the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament were the highest since 1993. I'm not surprised -- it's been a great tournament so far.
In the Sweet 16, Great Crossing (from the Eleventh Region) smashed Daviess County (from the Third Region) by 69 to 37.
ReplyDeleteIt is 180 miles from Great Crossing H.S. to Daviess Co. H.S. if you take the Western Kentucky Parkway, which is the fastest route according to Google.
ReplyDeleteThe last game in the first round of the Sweet 16 will feature Henderson County (from the Second Region) and Cooper H.S. in Union, Kentucky (from the Ninth Region). It is 216 miles from Cooper H.S. to Henderson Co. H.S., and you have to take I-64 across Indiana for most of the route. Of the eight routes we've traced so far, this is the only one that takes you out of Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteAlabama 51 - 40 Brigham Young (0:17 left in 1st)
ReplyDeleteFlorida 24 - 19 Maryland (7:37 left in 1st)
Florida jumped out to an early 20-11 lead, but Alex Condon got injured, and now Maryland leads 28-27 with 5:41 left in the first half.
ReplyDeleteThe Nats began their season by losing in ten innings to the Phillies, 7 to 3. The Nats are horrific in extra innings.
ReplyDeleteAlabama 51 - 40 Brigham Young (Halftime)
ReplyDeleteFlorida 40 - 38 Maryland (Halftime)
The Florida game is excellent.
Jeff Goodman reports that Alex Condon is questionable to return -- his right ankle is injured.
ReplyDeleteIt's all blowouts right now:
ReplyDeleteAlabama 113-88 Brigham Young (F)
Florida 77 - 62 Maryland (4:54 left in 2d)
Cooper 30 - 19 Henderson Co. (2:37 left in 3d)
Alabama went 25-51 on three's. They're hard to beat when they miss their threes. When they make them, they are pretty much unstoppable.
ReplyDeleteThat's all for me tonight.
