The Dodgers crushed the Mets 9-0 yesterday to take a 1-0 lead in the N.L.C.S. Here are today's matchups (home teams listed first) (all times Central):
3:08 P.M.: Los Angeles v. N.Y. Mets (L.A. leads 1-0) (FOX)
6:38 P.M.: N.Y. Yankees v. Cleveland (series tied 0-0) (TBS)
The Dodgers decided to play Game Two as a bullpen game, and it has gone very badly so far. In the first inning, Francisco Lindor led off with a home run off of Ryan Brasier. In the second inning, Mark Vientos hit a grand slam off of Landon Knack. After two innings, the Mets lead 6-0.
ReplyDeleteThe Dodgers got nine runs yesterday, but hit no homers. So the Mets now have the only home runs in the series.
ReplyDeleteThe Mets roll to an easy 7-3 victory, and the N.L.C.S. is all tied up. Now we go to the Big Ballpark in the Bronx to watch Cleveland and the Yankees.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, the Yankees actually have a starting pitcher. His name is Carlos Rodon, and he went 16-9 in 32 starts with an ERA of 3.96.
ReplyDeleteCleveland, on the other hand, does not have a starting pitcher. They are opening with Alex Cobb, who went 2-1 in three starts this year due to a series of injuries that kept him out of the lineup. The Mets tried a similar strategy last night, and it did not work out for them. We'll see if Cleveland has better luck.
ReplyDeleteI can now reveal that, in the other ALDS series, I was rooting for ...
ReplyDeleteDetroit. :(
