Right now, it looks like Ohio State will take the Classic Big 10, Texas will win the Classic Southwest Conference, and Utah will win the Classic Western Athletic Conference. The Classic Pac-10 is up for grabs between Oregon and USC.
If CBS did the seedings for the playoff, it would look like this:
(5) Ole Miss v. (12) Mizzou, winner to play (4) Alabama (6) Penn St. v. (11) Utah, winner to play (3) Ohio St. (7) Tennessee v. (10) U.S.C., winner to play (2) Texas (8) Miami (Fla.) v. (9) Oregon, winner to play (1) Georgia
On the other hand, if we still had the classic bowls, they would look like this:
Sugar Bowl: (1) Georgia v. (6) Penn St. Cotton Bowl: (2) Texas v. (5) Ole Miss Rose Bowl: (3) Ohio St. v. (9) Oregon Orange Bowl: (12) Missouri v. (4) Alabama
