Turns out 1992 was a very good year for music I still listen to today. Tori Amos came out with her debut album. Sade put out her best album. K.D. Lang splashed on the scene with a brilliant album. 10,000 Maniacs came out with their last album. All in all it was a fun year.

Sinead's version of "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home" is probably my favorite recording of hers. I'm pretty sure that is the song she sang first on the Saturday Night Live before she ripped the picture of the pope. It was a beautiful performance.
ReplyDeleteTori Amos might be the one artist whose music was actually purchased by every person I actually dated.
ReplyDeleteI've said this around here before, and I'll say it again--first time I heard "Hey, Jealousy," I thought to myself, "Oh, good, John Waite has a new record out;" first time I heard "Found Out About You," I thought to myself, "Oh, good, Blue Oyster Cult has a new record out." Love both of those Gin Blossoms songs so much.
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... might've been "How Insensitive" that Sinead O'Connor did on SNL that night.
