KHSAA Boys' Basketball Update

The regular season ends next week.  Here is the latest top 20 boys' basketball teams in the KHSAA, according to MaxPreps:

1.  Warren Central Dragons:  22-1
2.  Lex. Catholic Knights:  25-2
3.  Cov. Catholic Colonels:  21-3
4.  Lou. Ballard Bruins:  20-3
5.  N. Oldham Mustangs:  21-5
6.  McCracken Co. Mustangs:  23-3
7.  Great Crossing Warhawks:  22-5
8.  Bowling Green Purples:  23-5
9.  Mason Co. Royals:  24-3
10.  Collins Titans:  22-3
11.  George Rogers Clark Cardinals:  18-5
12.  Lyon Co. Lyons:  20-5
13.  Lou. Western Warriors:  18-7
14.  Lou. Male Bulldogs:  16-10
15.  Lou. Evangel Christian Eagles:  22-4
16.  Lou. Trinity Shamrocks:  17-7
17.  Lincoln Co. Patriots:  18-7
18.  Harlan Green Dragons:  22-5

I would watch out for the Harlan County Black Bears.  MaxPreps has them ranked number 40, but their record is 21-5, and they swept Harlan:  69-62 at Harlan on February 2; 81-73 at home on February 7.

  3. Lyon County is averaging 82.4 points a game, which is incredible for a 32-minute game.

  4. McCracken County, with a record of 23-3, is averaging 62.3 points per game, but allowing only 49.7.
