Since 1999, Boyle County has won 13 state championships, and the Rebels won their third title in a row this year. But at least Corbin gave them a game. No team west of Logan County reached the quarter-finals:
Nov. 18, 2022:
Corbin 35 - 21 Johnson Cent.
Warren East 21 - 49 Franklin Co.
Boyle Co. 41 - 21 Lex. Catholic
Logan Co. 19 - 55 Lou. Central
Nov. 25, 2022:
Corbin 49 - 35 Franklin Co.
Boyle Co. 35 - 21 Lou. Central
Dec. 2, 2022:
Corbin 26 - 32 Boyle Co. (at Kroger Field, Lexington)
Football games decided by less than one touchdown are pretty rare in the KHSAA playoffs. I would really like to see Boyle County play CAL, and I'd really like to see how Pikeville would do against Beechwood and/or Mayfield.
ReplyDeleteIn Idaho it broke down as follows. Kendrick beat Dietrich 42-34 to take 1A DII, Oakley beat Grace 58-20 to take 1A D1, Bear Lake beat Firth 14-6 to take 2A, Sugar-Salem beat Homedale 20-15 to take 3A, Skyline beat Bishop Kelly 50-35 to take 4A, and Rigby beat Meridian 28-21 to take 5A. Kendrick, Oakley, Skyline and Rigby won in 2021 as well. Sugar-Salem lost in overtime in 2021 in the final 34-33. Firth lost in the finals in 2021 33-13
ReplyDeleteWhy are the Idaho Championships referred to as the Milk Bowl?
DeleteI wondered about that as well.
