There are a number of college football games getting attention this weekend, but we connoisseurs know that the real game of the day is in Waco, Texas, where Baylor is defending the Unofficial College Football Championship (also known as the College Football Belt) against Albany. So far, Baylor leads 42-7 with 11:48 left in the third quarter. So it appears that Baylor will retain the UCFC.
WKU is 2-0. UK is 1-0. Vanderbilt beat Elon, which makes me happy for you. Washington State beat Idaho (but it was close), which makes me happy for Matthew. And Northwestern beat Nebraska in Ireland, which makes me happy for Michael Wilbon. Good start to CFB22.
ReplyDeleteAnd, now that I think about it, I'm happy for Baylor, too. A friend of mine died last week after a long and wonderful life, and I didn't know until reading her obituary that she had gone to Baylor. So good for her that the UCFC belt remains with Baylor.
Baylor defeats Albany 69-10 to retain the UCFC. Next week Baylor travels to Brigham Young University.
ReplyDeleteVandy last started 2-0 in the 2018 season. That year the Dores went 6-7, beating Tennessee 38-13 and going to the Texas Bowl.
ReplyDeleteWilliam & Mary is 1-0 after beating Charlotte. Sewanee is 1-0 after ending a 22-game losing streak with a win over St. Scholastica.
ReplyDeleteGood. This has worked out great for me. The very start of the season is when I most care about college football until the bowls, so I really need my teams and my people's teams to get off to good starts.
