The Masters: Day One

 Tiger is one under through seven holes, which is simply unbelievable.

    Nicklaus won the Masters in 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, and 1986.

  3. Tiger bogeys the eighth hole and completes the front nine in even par 36.

    Joaquin Niemann holes out from the fairway for an eagle on the ninth hole. He's in the lead at 3-under par. Cameron Smith, who's already won the Tournament of Champions and the Players Championship this year, is at 2-under.

  4. I refuse to keep track of changes to the UK basketball lineup. I will tune in for their first game in early November, and I'll root for whomever is there.

  5. The Brewers and the Cubs have started playing the first Major League game of the 2022 season. It looks very cold in Chicago.

  6. Smith is 3-under through 12. He's tied for the lead with Sungjae Im, who has played four holes. Niemann bogeyed the 10th and is part of a big group at 2-under. Tiger is even par through 11.

  8. Cameron Smith started off with a double bogey on the first hole. Since then, he has birdied the 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. He is now six under par through 16, and he leads the tournament by two shots over Im, who is four under through seven.

  9. On 16, Tiger curls in a long birdie putt -- it had to be at least 35 feet -- to move to one under par. The huge crowd at 16 -- it's great to see those folks back -- cheers wildly.

  10. Smith double-bogeys the last hole and finishes with a 4-under par 68 in which he had double bogeys on the first and last holes.

  13. Im birdies the 15th hole to move to 5-under par. He pars the last three holes to finish with a 67, and he leads the Masters by himself. Dustin Johnson is 4-under through 16.

  14. Im has two victories on the PGA Tour -- he won the 2020 Honda Classic, and the 2021 Shriners Children's Open.
