The 2013 tournament was the last one to feature Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland.  It was played at Heath.  On February 19, 2013, Tilghman beat Heath 49-47 in the last varsity game played by the Heath Pirates.  That seems fitting to me.  The last varsity game played at Heath was the Second District Final, played on February 21, 2013.  Lone Oak beat Tilghman 55 to 54.

Of course, I believe that we are only in a temporary hiatus -- that the population of McCracken County will grow, that the folks there will want more high schools, and that Heath will eventually return to varsity play.  In the meantime, I am waiting.
