We've all been a bit too busy to give the Kentucky high school football season the attention that it deserves, but here are three important scores from earlier in the year (home teams listed first). I'm just as surprised by McCracken's win at Mayfield as you are:
08/22/15: McCracken Co. 7 - 21 Paducah Tilghman
09/04/15: Paducah Tilghman 14 - 37 Mayfield
09/11/15: Mayfield 31 - 37 McCracken Co. (OT)
And here is a list of the games in Western Kentucky tomorrow night (home teams listed first). I would probably go to Russellville to watch the Panthers take on the Murray Tigers:
Ballard Mem. (2-2) v. Vienna (Ill.)
Caldwell Co. (4-1) v. Paducah Tilghman (3-2)
Calloway Co. (1-3) v. Madisonville-North Hopkins (1-4)
Christian Co. (4-1) v. Marshall Co. (1-3)
Fulton City (1-4) v. Stewart Co. (Tenn.)
Fulton Co. (0-5) v. Webster Co. (0-4)
Hopkins Co. Cent. (1-4) v. Logan Co. (0-5)
Mayfield (4-1) v. Corbin (3-2) (at Lindsey Wilson College)
McCracken Co. (4-1) v. Daviess Co. (4-1)
Russellville (5-0) v. Murray (3-2)
Trigg Co. (2-2) v. Fort Campbell (1-4)
Union Co. (3-1) v. Crittenden Co. (4-1)
Out-of-state mascot watch: Vienna (Ill.) is the Eagles -- their colors are orange and blue (just like the University of Illinois). Stewart Co. (Tenn.) is the Rebels -- their colors are black and gold. Stewart County also has a mission: "The SCHS mission is to provide a safe, positive, and diverse educational environment in which students at all academic levels can attain the knowledge and skills necessary to become productive citizens." We wish them the best of look in carrying that out.
