All over America yesterday, middle-aged men were checking their smart phones and calling their friends to talk about Jordan Spieth. The Dallas wunderkind, a 21-year-old playing in only his second Masters, dominated Augusta National for the second day in a row. In fact, his score of 130 over the first two rounds represented a new record for the Masters, which has already been played on 78 other occasions. It was beautiful, spectacular golf, and it presented the possibility for the type of runaway victory we haven't seen in these parts since Tiger Woods exploded onto the scene in 1997. Only Charley Hoffman finished the day within seven shots of Spieth, and even he was five back:
1. J. Spieth: -14 (64+66=130)
2. C. Hoffman: -9 (67+68=135)
T3. P. Casey (ENG): -7 (69+68=137)
T3. D. Johnson: -7 (70+67=137)
T3. J. Rose (ENG): -7 (67+70=137)
6. P. Mickelson: -6 (70+68=138)
7. E. Els: -5 (67+72=139)
T8. B. Haas: -4 (69+71=140)
T8. R. Moore: -4 (74+66=140)
T8. K. Na: -4 (74+66=140)
T8. K. Streelman: -4 (70+70=140)
