Horst Muhlmann, who I'm pretty sure is named on an Odd Couple one time, kicks the field goal, and Cincinnati closes to 7-3. (But the Dolphins win this game.)
The 12-2 Dolphins have allowed five touchdown passes all season. "How do they do it?" Curt Gowdy asks. "Everybody's in the right place at the right time."
Well, heck. Neil Craig just intercepted and returned for a touchdown. I'm sorry I said anything nice earlier about his volunteer work in Lincoln Heights.
I do want to remind you, however, that there's nothing to worry about here. The Dolphins do win this game.
Miami gave up a field goal, and then the Dolphins fumbled the kickoff, and then Cincinnati kicked another field goal. It's 21-16 at the half. But you know what happens? Miami wins, 34-16. Then Christmas comes. Then Miami beats the Raiders, 27-10, in the AFC Championship. And then the Dolphins beat the Vikings in Super Bowl VIII, 24-7. So, ... happy ending. Hooray for the Dolphins!
When the time comes, somebody tell my wife that I want this NFL-on-NBC theme played at my funeral.
