Album Review: Pom Pom by Ariel Pink

Odd may be the best way to describe this album. It's as if you programmed a computer with all of the college music of the late 80's and then had it randomly produce a 17 song mix of new songs based on the knowledge it gained from the data you provided.

As you would expect in the experiment I described you will have some songs that really work and some that don't and some that are capture the vibe but don't do much else. A mixed bag of stuff.

So there will be some songs that you like, some you don't, and my guess is it will be a bit different for everyone. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give the album 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
