Album Review: No Fixed Address by Nickelback

There are some artists where you simply can't get past your built in prejudices. Bon Jovi is one of those for me. At their peak I was part of the student movement to create WRFL in Lexington. Bon Jovi represented everything I thought was bad about radio music at the time.  Nickelback is another one of those groups for me.  Not sure what it is about their sound, but something about it just doesn't work for me, it just seems so cornball or something.  Anyhow I normally would simply pass on reviewing an album like this but decided to really listen to it and try to get past my feelings.

Here is what I came away with.  It's a good length at 11 tracks and it is full of solid hooks.  Lyrically it's all over the place and is certainly not thematic in any way.  In the end it's just not a sound I like.  I would not be going back to it.  I would assume if you are a big Nickelback fan then it would be a good album, but how can I know.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give the album 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
