British Open - Friday - 3 PM (BST)

Well, apparently it is not going to be long afternoon for Tiger, et al. after all. Play at the British Open has been suspended due to high winds -- an absolutely ludicrous decision and something that I've never heard of before. This is an incredible gift to stars like McIlroy and Woods who might have fallen hopelessly behind Oosthuizen if they had been forced to play in what, to me at least, appears to be relatively normal British Open conditions. I am really furious about this. I think it places a shadow over the whole event.

McIlroy said after yesterday's round that he has never played St. Andrews under difficult conditions. And with rulings like this, he may never have to.

1. L. Oosthuizen (RSA): -12 (36)
2. R. McIlroy (NIR): -9 (21)
3. M. Calcavecchia (USA): -7 (36)
T4. P. Casey (ENG): -6 (36)
T4. L. Westwood (ENG): -6 (36)
T4. L. Glover (USA): -6 (21)
T4. S. Tiley (ENG): -6 (18)

Daly is one over through six holes and five under for the tournament. I think it's unlikely that we'll see him on the leaderboard again.
