British Open - Friday - 10 PM (BST)

They have blown the horn to stop play due to darkness. There are about nine groups left on the course; they will have to return at 6:30 AM tomorrow morning to finish the second round. Steve Tiley, who still has to play the last eight holes, will hope that the wind dies down overnight.

Tom Watson has missed the cut. He had a very nice moment where he kissed the bridge on the 18th hole and said farewell to St. Andrews, one of the few courses on the British Open rota where he did not win the title. He did birdie the last hole to make everyone happy.

Tiger, fighting all the way, almost holed out his drive on the par-4 18th, and was left with a very makeable eagle putt of 20-25 feet. The putt looked as if it were going it for sure, but missed. Tiger was very disappointed. He did make birdie and finished with a one-over par 73. He is four under for the tournament and most commentators will say he still has a good chance to win. But he still doesn't look right to me -- especially on the greens -- and I do not believe he can get it done.

1. L. Oosthuizen (RSA): -12 (36 holes)
2. M. Calcavecchia (USA): -7 (36)
T3. P. Casey (ENG): -6 (36)
T3. L. Westwood (ENG): -6 (36)
T3. S. Tiley (ENG): -6 (26)
