Just as the Classic SEC is a never-ending dogfight between six good programs, the Classic Big 10 is a two-team struggle, with everyone else far behind. Seven of the ten teams have a losing record against the others, which dampens the spirit.
ReplyDeleteMichigan State did not join the Big Ten until 1953, which explains why the Spartans have played many fewer games against the others. Significantly, Michigan State won its only national championship in 1952 -- the last season before it joined the Big Ten.
