Given that GoHeath is boycotting these games and Matthew has been boycotting the Olympics for years, I'm not planning to annoy you guys day after day for the next three weeks with pictures of my adorable little paper flags and whatnot. But I do want to mention that our old friend, John Shuster of Chisholm, Minnesota, and his curling friends made the cover of the Parade magazine that circulated with this weekend's Madisonville Messenger.
Turns out Shuster and associates appeared on The Voice late last year and are the subject of a documentary movie playing on one of the TV networks. I'm happy for John Shuster, and I wish Team USA success at Beijing 2022.
Previous reports:
I would like to see a picture of the paper flags.
ReplyDeleteVery kind of you. Thank you. Will oblige.
ReplyDeleteTwo final thoughts before the (tape-delay) opening ceremonies tonight:
ReplyDelete1. I still can't believe Shuster won.
2. Nathan Chen of Salt Lake City, Utah, reminds me of Jordan Spieth when he first came on the PGA scene.
In my opinion, Shuster's gold medal is the single biggest upset I've ever seen in any sport, and it's not that close. It would be as if this year's Jacksonville Jaguars won the last 8 games of the season, and then swept to the Super Bowl, without making any personnel or coaching changes. I've never seen anything like it.
DeleteI agree. He and a speed skater shared flag-bearing duties in the opening ceremonies last night.
