It's the round of 16 in this week's playoffs, and we have a few good games. Murray (8-2) will be at Mayfield (10-1), trying to pull off the very rare feat of beating the Cardinals at War Memorial Stadium twice in one season. And in 6A, we have three top-20 matchups. Number-15 Madison Central will visit Number-12 Lex. Bryan Station. Number-11 Lou. Manual will visit Number-3 Lou. St. X. And Number-20 Lou. Ballard will visit Number-9 Lou. Trinity.
Murray was trying to beat Mayfield for the third time in a row, and the second time this year, but that's not going to happen. Mayfield led 28-0 after the first quarter, and are now up 34-0 in the second.
ReplyDeleteAfter three quarters, Madison Central leads Bryan Station 35-10.
ReplyDeleteMayfield leads Murray 48-0 at the half. Don't tug on Superman's cape.
ReplyDeleteNumber-1 Male takes out Bullitt East 56-8.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, in college hoops, Furman went to the Yum Center at beat U of L 80 to 72.
ReplyDeleteFirst time in 29 years U of L has lost a home game in November. UK lost at home on November 12, 2019 to the Evansville Purple Aces, who won 67-64.
DeleteNumber-10 Southwestern beats Pulaski County 27-7.
ReplyDeleteNumber-18 Lou. Christian Academy beat Mercer Co. 43-7.
ReplyDeleteAfter three quarters, Russellville leads Crittenden County 17-0.
ReplyDeleteWith 16 seconds left in the third quarter, Murray has gotten its first 1st down of the game.
ReplyDeleteNumber-7 Woodford Co. beats West Jessamine 51-16.
ReplyDeleteMadison Central beats Bryan Station 41-18.
ReplyDeleteTilghman was down by 14-0 and then by 21-7 and then 28-14 but came back to win at Union County, 31-28. I actually was surprised to find myself happy for Tilghman (because I am petty), but I was also so sorry for Union County.
ReplyDelete#ohky: Union County might end up being my personal Breakout Kentucky County of 2021. But there remain about six weeks to go in the year, so we'll just have to wait and see.
