The Red Sox and the Yankees are battling for AL Wild Card positions in Fenway Park right now. The BoSox lead 2-0. The most interesting thing about this game is that it's on MLB Network, and Bob Costas is doing the play-by-play. Gus Johnson just did the Notre Dame-Wisconsin game on FOX, so this has been an unusually good day for TV sports announcing.
The Cardinals won their 15th game in a row today. That is the longest winning streak in Cardinal history.
ReplyDeleteYankees get a run on a single, a double, and a wild pitch. But the BoSox still lead 2-1 going into the bottom of the 6th.
ReplyDeleteIn the top of the 8th, the Yankees get a walk, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch to load the bases with two outs. Giancarlo Stanton then absolutely crushes a grand slam to left field, and the Yankees lead 5-3.

ReplyDeleteKentucky guts out a huge win in Columbia, South Carolina, beating the Gamecocks 16-10. The Cats are now 4-0, with an easy win over La-Monroe (45-10), and hard wins over Missouri (35-28), UT-Chattanooga (28-23), and South Carolina (16-10). Next up, the Cats host Florida.
