Next Friday will be the end of the regular season for high school football in Kentucky -- it's amazing how fast it goes. Here are MaxPrep's top 20 rankings. I really wish we had a single champion decided by a poll in Kentucky -- I would love to follow the debate between the Male and CovCath fans.
I would also note that we don't usually pay that much attention to high school football in Louisville, but this Friday's game between Male and Manual has to be one of the biggest in the long history of that epic rivalry. Male went 2-0 against Trinity and St. X this year, and Manual beat St. X (they didn't play Trinity). That's a very strong performance for the two oldest public high schools in Louisville, and I have to assume that there will be a great deal of interest in the State's Oldest Rivalry this weekend.
