NBA Update


We're about an eighth of the way through the 2017-18 NBA qualification round, and here would be participants if the playoffs had started today: the Celtics, Pistons, Magic, Wizards (!), Raptors, 76ers, Knicks and Hornets from the East and the Rockets, Timberwolves, Warriors, Grizzlies, Trail Blazers, Spurs, Clippers and Jazz from the West. I am rooting for the Wizards in the East and the Pelicans (ninth place) in the West. Reminder: The Warriors beat the Cavaliers for the NBA17 championship.

    My 'Zards and Pel's are both 11-9 and ranked seventh in their conferences. Looks like my dream NBA18 Finals are coming together nicely through about a quarter of the qualification season. If the playoffs started today, ...

    The NBA is about three eighths through its qualification round, and I’m pleased to report that my dream 2018 Finals matchup—Wiz v. ‘Cans—remains very much in play! Here are the qualifiers per conference if the tournament started today …

    -- East: Celtics, Cavaliers-y, Raptors, Pistons, Pacers, Bucks, Wizards and Knicks

    -- West: Rockets, Warriors-x, Spurs, Timberwolves, Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Pelicans and Thunder
