Every year I start off with an ambition to review at least two albums a week. Normally I start off the year OK then cool off. What normally cools me off is hitting a group of albums that I have in my queue to review that I don't really want to write about. This is the case with this album the The Shins.
As I think I've said before I'm not the biggest Shins fan, but my wife is and so anytime I see a new album from them I give it a listen. This album for me just sort of plays along in the background every time I put it on and I just can't seem to get past that point. So, I've been playing this album over and over again for a month now and still don't feel one way or another about it. I guess that means it's not bad but nothing special.
Definitely a clean the house album as it has a nice upbeat feel to it, uses no foul language, and since my wife is a fan, won't complain that I'm not playing Raffi. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
the sentiment of the first paragraph here is my deal with my 1968/69/70/71 stuff.
