Russell Westbrook, realizing that the season is coming to an end and that he really needs to start shooting if he's going to meet his quota, fired up 31 shots in Game 3 of the series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs. That was 13 more shots than Kevin Durant, and 23 more shots than anyone else on the team was able to get off. Here was Westbrook's line:
7-21 from 2-point range
3-10 from 3-point range
8-8 from the line
31 points, 8 assists, 5 turnovers
So he beat Durant, who could only get 26 points on his 18 shots.
Of course, the team didn't do so well, losing 100-96 to the Spurs at home, and giving up home court advantage. But the Thunder -- and Coach Billy Donovan -- get to watch Westbrook shoot the ball for at least two more games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Cleveland 3 - 0 Atlanta
Toronto 2 - 1 Miami
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
Golden St. 2 - 1 Portland
San Antonio 2 - 1 Oklahoma City
Westbrook is the 3rd worst 3 point shooter in NBA history with at least 1500 attempts.
