I will confess I know nothing about Bonnie Raitt prior to her big breakthrough album Nick of Time back in 1989 and don't know much about her since except for what I've heard on the radio. But Raitt will turn 67 this year and she shows on this album a strong voice, solid guitar work, some really good songs, and a lot of energy. This album could have easily come out in 1990 and all those big fans of Nick of Time would have been well pleased.
There is one throw away song on here, an odd one the second song on the album a cover of INXS's "Need You Tonight", but otherwise it's a very strong collection. "I Knew" and "All Alone With Something to Say" I really like. This is an album I enjoy putting on while I work or drive and I must admit that surprised me.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
You know, there are times I really like some Bonnie Raitt or Vince Gill on an FM stereo, and this song in the YouTube video would fit right in there.
