The Glasgow Daily Times reports that United Way told the local city council that it plans to open a "2-1-1" call center in Bowling Green, which would process calls from 10 counties for food, shelter, utility, mental-health, substance-abuse, aging and employment services.
The Courier-Journal reports that about 13 percent of Kentucky's schoolchildren have had a parent incarcerated. That's nearly twice the national average.
