Album Review: In Ruin by Cauldron

Did you grow up in the 80's? Did you like the metal sound of the 80's? Well then you will probably like Cauldron. This is the band's fourth studio album, and all hark back to the days of yore when heavy metal dominated the airwaves.

Truth is these guys do a great job of capturing that sound. They write good hooks and the album moves along nicely. For me it's just not my thing. It wasn't in the 80's and it's not here.

 I'm always torn on reviewing an album like this. Should I rate this album on how much I like it or on how well I think they accomplished their intended goal. I usually go with how much I like something. Truth is I've listened to this album about 10 times and there isn't a song on here that has stuck with me. In the end that's a bad thing. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give the album 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
