OK, they played the round of 96 in the KHSAA Football Playoffs, and here's what happened in our end of the Commonwealth (home teams listed first):
Class 1A:
Russellville 38 - 36 Campbellsville
Bethlehem 48 - 21 Crittenden Co.
Class 2A:
Mayfield 50 - 0 Butler Co.
Owensboro Catholic 34 - 15 Murray
Class 3A:
Caldwell Co. 61 - 39 Adair Co.
Elizabethtown 42 - 14 Paducah Tilghman
Class 4A:
Hopkinsville 21 - 28 Franklin-Simpson (OT)
S. Warren 34 - 7 Allen Co.- Scottsville
Class 5A:
Owensboro 50 - 14 Greenwood
Bowling Green 41 - 21 Christian Co.
Class 6A:
McCracken Co. 51 - 13 N. Hardin
Cent. Hardin 29 - 0 Meade Co.
For the record, across all six classes there were 36 playoff games in the first two rounds in Western Kentucky. In those games, the home teams (which were also the higher seeds) went 34-2, a winning percentage of 94.4 percent. Again, I don't see the point of these rounds.
