Trinity's coach, Bob Beatty, might be on the move. Our man in Louisville, Jason Frakes of The Courier-Journal, reports that Coach Beatty has apparently applied for a job in Bentonville, Arkansas (and, by the way, the AP has decided to ditch the old state abbreviations with town names and to spell out the whole state name; I think this is an excellent change). Writes Jason:
ReplyDelete... Beatty, 59, has a 181-32 record at Trinity and won his 11th state title last December, tying former Highlands coach Dale Mueller for the most in state history. His 2011 squad finished 14-0 and was named national champion by four websites.
In a 2009 interview with The Courier-Journal, Beatty said he had interviewed for just one other job during his tenure at Trinity and turned down the position at Valdosta (Ga.) in 2005. Since then, he reportedly interviewed at Branson (Mo.) in March of 2014.
A native of Butler, Mo., Beatty has said he spends much of his vacation time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Bentonville is located about 3 ½ hours from the Lake of the Ozarks. ...
