Down goes Denver! DOWN GOES DENVER! Team Brady stomps Team Peyton, so we have a new number one at the top of the AP's NFL Poll. Oh, and HOW 'BOUT THOSE CARDINALS?:
1. New England Patriots: 7-2
2. Arizona Cardinals: 7-1
3. Denver Broncos: 6-2
4. Philadelphia Eagles: 6-2
5. Detroit Lions: 6-2
6. Indianapolis Colts: 6-3
7. Pittsburgh Steelers: 6-3
8. Green Bay Packers: 5-3
9. Seattle Seahawks: 5-3
10. Dallas Cowboys: 6-3
The Dolphins (5-3) move from 17th up to 13th after a blowout win over San Diego. The Redskins (3-6) fall from 23d to 26th after blowing a fourth quarter lead in Minnesota.
Believe it or not, we are still in bye season. This week NFL fans will not see the Texans, Colts, Vikings, Patriots, Chargers, or Redskins.
There are no games featuring two top teams this week -- I suggest that you watch the Dolphins at the Lions, as I'm curious to know whether either of those teams is for real.
For the record, 8 pollsters voted New England number 1; 4 went with the Cardinals.
ReplyDeleteI flirted with the Panthers a little, but, typically, my favorite NFC teams are the Packers and Lions--and, then, to a lesser extent, the remainder of the old Central. The seasons when the Dolphins play these teams are always odd, but it is always great to think more about all of those NFC Central helmets. The helmets of the Packers, Lions, Bears and Vikings are all great. And while the Bucs' helmets has always been horrible, I have always sort of appreciated that Tampa Bay went all unabashedly in with its nutso helmet, not-a-city city name, John McKay, Warren Sapp, etc.
