I'm torn about this album. On the one hand there isn't a lot there. No song that really jumps out, no really smart lyrics, nothing really innovative about the sound. On the other hand there aren't any bad tracks, it's not X rated, and sometimes it's just nice to listen to R&B. All in all I've enjoyed listening to this album as background music while working but I don't know that it's going to be getting much play outside of that.
It's been an odd year for me and R&B. I don't know that I've heard an R&B album that really jumped out at me this year and I found myself enjoying this album more than I think I normally would have just because it was so nice to have some nice pop sounding R&B playing. Of course when I go back and review my reviews for the year there was probably some album early in the year I just loved, but I don't seem to remember it now if that was the case.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
This song sounds fantastic.
