This is the debut album from experimental R&B artist FKA twigs. Like most experimental music it has its hits and misses. The saving grace to the album is that FKA twigs seems to know how to write songs to take advantage of her vocal strengths. Despite being experimental she also has a handle on melodies, and so even in the midst of what she's doing you can find solid hooks.
All in all the album has a very consistent dark vibe that helps to carry it along, but it also means you have to be in the mood for dark experimental music. So say you're in the mood to watch Donnie Darko or something along those lines.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
