It seems to me, Eric, that you are particularly fond of the parts of Kentucky that lie along the Ohio River, from Northern Kentucky to Louisville to Owensboro.
ReplyDeleteActually, Maysville all the way down to Wickliffe, I love--yes.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, I think southern Kentucky from Murray to, say, Somerset is the most beautiful driving I've ever done.
And Fulton County--with its pecan trees, cotton and weird Murphy's Pond--is such a place of intrigue to me.
And I probably haven't given central Kentucky the attention it deserves, just out of spite for Matthew.
And then there's hardscrabble Appalachia, which interests me something fierce in spurts.
I really do just love the whole place. I imagine I would feel same about Indiana if I had spent more of my childhood there, but, such as my history is, Kentucky compels me in a supernatural way.
