Ludogorets Razgrad, the Bulgarian champions, play the first leg of their big match with Steaua Bucharest today. Remember that the winner of this two-leg match will reach the Group Stages of the UEFA Champions' League, the most prestigious club soccer competition in the world.
Today's game will be in Bucharest, Romania. According to Google Maps, it only takes two hours and eight minutes to drive from Razgrad, Bulgaria, to Bucharest. And the FOCUS News Agency reports that 2,600 Bulgarians are expected to attend today's big game -- they will be protected by 700 policemen. We hope they all have a good trip, and that Ludogorets picks up some vital away goals.
What an emotionally exhausting week for the Tchakarova twins!
ReplyDeleteA frustrating day for the Bulgarian faithful. They almost held Steaua Bucharest to a scoreless tie, but the Romanian champions scored in the 85th minute to pick up a 1-0 victory. This means that in next week's second leg, Ludogorets has to win by at least two goals to have the higher aggregate score. It also means that Ludogorets has no away goals, so they will be in trouble if Steaua Bucharest can score next week.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Bulgaria.
