I've never been a big Beck fan, but my favorite album of his is Sea Change. It's a quiet melancholy album, and this album has been compared to it, even by Beck. Similar to Sea Change this album is quiet, thoughtful, and good to throw on if you are going for a long drive in a thoughtful mood by yourself. I've listened to this album probably ten times or so and have never latched onto a song or found myself thinking about it afterwards. But that is pretty much how I roll with Beck. If you are a Beck fan I would imagine you will not be disappointed.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
I like louder Beck, but I do like this OK. I do appreciate that Beck has a little Prince thing going where he tries to really create a whole album of a single mood.
