The Racers picked a bad time to go 9-28 from three-point range. They lost to Eastern Kentucky 86-83 in the semi-finals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Nashville.
This was a rebuilding year for the Racers, who lost Isaiah Canaan after last season and who only had one senior in this year's starting line-up. Murray got off to a shaky start, and was 2-5 after the first seven games of the year. But the Racers rallied after that, going 16-3 before losing two heart-breakers in their last two games -- a 118-115 double overtime loss at SEMO and a 3-point loss to Eastern in the OVC semi-finals.
The Racers finish with a record of 18-11 and a national ranking of 155. They remain a strong force in the OVC, and should contend for the title next year.
With Murray's elimination, there are four Kentucky schools still vying for the National Title.
