Here's the latest top 10 from the AP's NFL Poll. The Seahawks maintain a firm grip on the top slot:
1. Seattle Seahawks: 12-2
2. Denver Broncos: 11-3
3. San Francisco 49ers: 10-4
4. Kansas City Chiefs: 11-3
5. Carolina Panthers: 10-4
6. New England Patriots: 10-4
7. New Orleans Saints: 10-4
8. Cincinnati Bengals: 9-5
9. Indianapolis Colts: 9-5
10. Arizona Cardinals: 9-4
Again, I am stunned that the Cardinals are 9-5. I don't think I've seen the Cardinals play a single game since they were in the Super Bowl a few years ago.
The Dolphins moved to 8-6 with a stirring victory over the Patriots, and they advance from 15th to 14th in the poll. (The AP ranks the 8-6 teams in the following order: Ravens, Bears, Eagles, Dolphins).
For some reason, I can't find the teams that are ranked between 26 and 32. I'm pretty sure the Redskins (3-11) are at number 31.
I miss how the NFL used to play games on Saturday after college football season ended; I would like to know more about why that practice has largely stopped. Anyway, this week features three top-10 games, none of which is being played on Sunday night or Monday night:
(10) Arizona at (1) Seattle
(9) Indianapolis at (4) Kansas City
(7) New Orleans at (5) Carolina
Dolphins No. 1!
