MLB Power Rankings

GreenCollar continues to roll, and we continue to get closer to the playoffs.  Here are the latest rankings from CBS Sports:

1.  Boston Red Sox (88-58)
2.  Atlanta Braves (87-57)
3.  Los Angeles Dodgers (85-59)
4.  Detroit Tigers (83-62)
5.  St. Louis Cardinals (84-60)
6.  Oakland Athletics (83-61)
7.  Pittsburgh Pirates (84-61)
8.  Cincinnati Reds (83-64)
9.  Texas Rangers (81-64)
10.  Cleveland Indians (77-68)

Huge series coming up in Dallas between the A's and the Rangers.  Meanwhile, Natstown has won 21 of its last 30, but no one is paying much attention any more.  They're ranked 14th.  Still, I would like to see them finish with a winning record -- we don't get a lot of those in the DC area.

  1. #GREENCOLLAR! 8-2, A's over Twins. Oakland wins two of three in Minnesota and now flies to Dallas to face the Rangers beginning tomorrow. The A's will open the series with a 3.5-game lead in the American League West.

  2. AND WE SWEEP THE RANGERS AT TEXAS! #GREENCOLLAR! The lead in the division is 6.5 games, and Oakland has 13 games to play. This is just amazing.

  3. I'm scared to death to touch this thing, but I also don't want to worry myself out of a lot of very rare run. Oakland's magic number for winning the American League West is six. Terrific stat in that game story: Josh Donaldson, whose run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth late last night capped the 2-1 A's victory over the Angels, has eight hits with 16 RBI in 11 bases-loaded at-bats this season.

    Now the bad news.
