This album review is dedicated to the memory of Roger Ebert. The one thing that really stood out to me about Ebert was that he reviewed a movie on more than just it's artistic content, he also reviewed it on expectations. If you're going to a movie that supposed to be an action movie, it may have a bad script and bad acting, but amazing action and Ebert would give that a thumbs up. I always really liked that about Ebert.
All of that is a long way to get to this album being very good for exactly what it is advertised to be. These guys made a straight to DVD stoner movie in the tradition of Cheech and Chong and this is the soundtrack for said movie. It is exactly as it is advertised to be and the truth is the songs are pretty good for what they are. It has a nice easy going vibe to it and I found it to be quite entertaining. This is not high art but it is exactly what these guys set out to create and in that it succeeds.
Even if you aren't someone who would find themselves kicking back to watch said movie, there are songs on here that you can grab for a summer mix tape.
Truth be told Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are both very talented and they actually seem to be enjoying what they are doing on this album and it brings their talents to the fore. I find it so unusual that this album works as well as it does.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert.
