What's the Deal with Florida Gulf Coast, Anyway?

Grantland has the best analysis I've seen of FGCU's two big wins over the weekend.

The part about FGCU's vulnerability to outside shooting is particularly interesting.  Georgetown went 7-27 from three-point range against the Eagles, while San Diego State went 8-23.  So the Eagles were lucky to draw two teams that shot poorly.  If FGCU had had to play Duke in the first round, we probably wouldn't have heard much about them.
