If you grew up in the 80's listening to bands like Echo and the Bunnymen and The Mighty Lemon Drops, then this album will sound fairly familiar. It's essentially experimental jangle pop. It is definitely from a modern era but there is something almost too familiar about the sound at times.
That familiarity draws me into the album whenever I put it on, but soon afterwards I find myself losing interest. I have listened to this album quite a number of times and it seems that every time I get lost somewhere in the middle and completely tune it out. I think the biggest problem is that there are too many times where his sound experimentation falls flat and in those moments the album fades into the background.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
I like his presentation.
