My biggest complaint about most Christian rock is that it mimics pop music too much. This album from Casting Crowns is a great example. The sound is a ripoff of so much rock/pop but where this album stands out is that these guys actually seem to know what they are doing. It's not just a remake of some pop songs with Christian lyrics thrown in, these guys are writing good hooks and good melodies and have put together an entertaining album. It drags a bit and so around track eight you feel as though you've been listening to it forever, but still it's not a bad album and I would think for fans of this sort of Christian contemporary music it would be a good one.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
