College Baseball Update

South Carolina fought back to reach the finals of the College World Series for the third straight year. Here's what's been happening in Omaha so far:

BRACKET ONE:
UCLA 9, Stony Brook 1
Arizona 4, Florida St. 3 (12 innings)
Florida St. 12, Stony Brook 2 (Stony Brook eliminated)
Arizona 4, UCLA 0
Florida St. 4, UCLA 1 (UCLA eliminated)
Arizona 10, Florida St. 3 (Florida St. eliminated)

BRACKET TWO:
Arkansas 8, Kent St. 1
S. Carolina 7, Florida 3
Kent St. 5, Florida 4 (Florida eliminated)
Arkansas 2, S. Carolina 1
S. Carolina 4, Kent St. 1 (Kent St. eliminated)
S. Carolina 2, Arkansas 0
S. Carolina 3, Arkansas 2 (Arkansas eliminated)

From 1970 to 1974, Southern California won the CWS five years in a row. Since then, no team has won more than two consecutive NCAA Baseball titles. For that reason alone, you have to like Arizona's chances. On the other hand, the Gamecocks have a great pitching staff, and they are extremely difficult in tournament play. It should be a good final.
