Album Review: Twenty by Boyz II Men

So do you remember when Boyz II Men splashed on the scene 20 years ago? Were you a big fan? Then this two disc album is just for you. Twelve new tracks, their first in almost a decade and a redo of nine of their previous hits.

The good thing about this album is that it is Boyz II Men as you expect them to be. These songs could have been recorded at the peak of their popularity and that's a good thing. The only problem with that consistency is that the nine redoes pretty much sound as they did the first time around and it would have been more interesting to hear them cast differently.

I have to confess I was never the biggest fan of Boyz II Men and though I can enjoy this album in bits and pieces I find it a bit long to sit through all 21 tracks. Still when a band that has been around for twenty years can still produce work that their fans should fine completely enjoyable they are doing something right.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. Have they been active this whole time? Or did they go away for awhile?

    1. They have remained active and only had one personnel change.

  2. This song absolutely could've come out in the early 1990s. I enjoyed it more now than I would've then.
