Evanescence splashed on the scene back in 2003 with their album Fallen and sold over 17 million albums worldwide. The band then lost one of their cofounders and they pushed on to their second album in 2006. It went to number 1 in the US, but sold only 6 million copies worldwide. Now five years later they are back with their third album and another band reshuffling. The only consistency is their front woman Amy Lee and their sound. It may have lost a bit of the grunge edge it had in 2003, but the sound is still heavy metal, meets pop with Lee's voice the highlight of the sound. Again their album went to number 1 in the US.
If you still find yourself listening to Fallen then try the upgrade I think you'll like it. My guess would be a lot of their original fans have aged out of their sound and I'm not sure they will be picking up any new fans, though it seems to me their sound would work well in the new Hunger Games movies.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
