I like Ryan Adams and found that I liked this album. It's pretty quiet and mellow, but it has a nice layer of emotion to it. It's another solid effort from Adams. There isn't anything on here that really grabbed me, but I could listen to this album again and again and always find a new song that was my favorite that time through. It feels influenced by 70's bands like Firefall to some degree, but it is in essence a singer, songwriter album.
It is one of those albums that could either sit merely as background music while you read a book or play a game, or it could be something that gets on your mp3 player for an extended time.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
Wow. I was certain we were headed for at least three stars there.
