Time for College Baseball

So it's time to check in on college baseball, which I regard as the most under-reported sport in America. You will recall that last season ended with South Carolina defeating Florida to win its second consecutive national title.

Here is today's Top 20, courtesy of Baseball America (SEC teams in bold). Pay careful attention to the team in 10th place:

1. Florida: 22-2
2. Stanford: 15-2
3. Arkansas: 22-3
4. Florida St: 21-3
5. N. Carolina: 18-5
6. UCLA: 17-4
7. Texas A & M: 19-5
8. Arizona: 18-7
9. Rice: 18-8
10. Kentucky: 24-1
11. S. Carolina: 17-7
12. Miami (Fla.): 19-5
13. Cal-State Fullerton: 14-8
14. Arizona St: 15-8
15. Louisiana St: 18-6
16. Mississippi: 17-7
17. Cent. Florida: 19-6
18. Texas: 13-9
19. Purdue: 16-4
20. N. Carolina St: 16-5

Kentucky actually won their first 22 games in a row before losing at Tennessee (of course) on Friday. But the Cats roared back to take the next two games in the series from the Vols, leaving them with a record of 24-1.
