We're down to one more open spot in the 2012 Houchens Industries/KHSAA Girls' Sweet Sixteen® State Basketball Tournament field, and it will be determined today:
15th Region, at Pikeville's East Kentucky Exposition Center--Magoffin County and Paintsville play at 5 p.m. Central for the fourth time this season. The visiting Lady Tigers won at Magoffin County, 59-53, and then the visiting Lady Hornets won at Paintsville, 66-57, in the regular season. Then, on Feb. 28, Magoffin blasted Paintsville, 65-39, in the 57th District championship. Whatever happens tonight, we hope it provides at least a brief pleasant diversion for the folks in Salyersville, who were dealing with hard times even before Friday's tragedy.
