  21. blogtalkradio.com is carrying tonight's Third Region championship. We have a live microphone from the Owensboro Sportscenter right now (20 minutes before scheduled tip), and you can hear that someone is singing Elton John's "Rocket Man." He's very good, whoever is singing. It might well be Elton John himself, but, if so, it's some live version. It does sound as though this is being broadcast in the gym. It's kind of strange to imagine the circumstances here.

  22. OK, this is definitely Elton John. I'm not sure why we're hearing an Elton John live cut of "Rocket Man" on the Owensboro Sportscenter PA system 18 minutes in advance of the Third Region girls' basketball championship, but, whatever, we are.

Shame on me ... I keep saying it's Hancock County playing Muhlenberg, but, indeed, it's Grayson County. Sorry for the false hope, Hawesville; apologies for the diss, Leitchfield.
