Four more teams were eliminated yesterday, so only 12 teams remain.
Yesterday may have been the most boring Wednesday in the history of the State Tournament. Only one team scored 60 points, and no game was decided by fewer than 11 points. It's not so bad for North Laurel and Apollo -- they were probably just happy to be there. But the fans from Hoptown and Bullitt East -- who had serious hopes of going deep into the tournament -- have to feel just sick about their teams played:
State Tournament Round of 16 (Rupp Arena, Lexington):
Rowan Co. 64, North Laurel 46
Pulaski Southwestern 52, Hopkinsville 41
Lou. Trinity 52, Bullitt East 32
Clark Co. 56, Owensboro Apollo 36
Everything was lackluster with Joe B and Denny not on hand to get things rolling.
